Work Experience

After completing my Education degree, I was fortunate to accept a position as a substitute for Regina Public Schools. This has been a great experience that has allowed me to continue to gain experience with a variety of classes and amazing learning environments. As a substitute teacher, I have been able to build relationships with fellow colleagues, which has led to a temporary contract starting in March!

Growing up with such a tight-knit "dance family" led me to the opportunity to teach alongside the inspirational women who taught me. I began teaching for Dance Dimensions in 2013, primarily as a Ballet instructor. Every year I've been able to grow and expand my knowledge for a variety of dance genres (ex. tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and musical theatre). This experience has taught me the importance of planning each lesson for my students, as well as how to be adaptable when necessary.

As the final part of my Kinesiology Degree, I had the opportunity to complete my Fieldwork at a company called Above and Beyond Autism Consulting Services (ABACS). After completing my Fieldwork, a position as an Instructor Therapist opened up which I've had for the passed three years. At ABACS I get to experience working one-to-one with learners who have Autism Spectrum Disorder of various levels. ABACS follows an Applied Behavioural Analysis format, which offers Intensive Behavioural Interventions that can be specifically tailored to each learner. This experience has allowed me to see how differentiating academic studies to meet the need of each individual learner allows them to success.
