About Me

My name is MacKenzie (Drumm) Griffiths, and I'm so glad that you've found your way to my website!

I've just recently finished my second degree in Education (Pre-K to 5), where I completed my Internship experience at Dr. A.E. Perry in a Grade 2/3 classroom. Before I began my Education Degree, I received a Kinesiology Degree from the University of Regina. With this experience, I was exposed to working with a variety of populations and found many ways to use movement as a part of education. The more time I spent working with young children with my various jobs (dance teacher, autism interventionist) I decided to change my path and found my place within the Faculty of Education. (During my first degree I also had the pleasure of meeting my husband! We just got married this past summer).

Right after completing my Education degree I got a position as a substitute teacher for Regina Public Schools! Ever since then it's been a whirlwind of awesome experiences, working at a career that I absolutely adore.

I have a great passion for teaching young students! Throughout my past experiences, I've had the pleasure of getting a taste of what it would be like to be a teacher. Growing up I also had the pleasure of watching my mom teach in her classroom. I loved helping her prep class materials, and sometimes I even got to be her "test dummy" with crafts and activities. Seeing my mom love what she does every day had a real influence on my choice to begin my journey as an educator. Throughout my work experience, I've been able to work with a variety of learners whether it be through teaching dance, academic studies, or arts-based programs.

I'm very proud to say that I'm following in the footsteps of my mom, who has had a very successful career as an elementary school teacher, and I'm very excited for what my future has in store for me as I experience working in a variety of different classrooms, getting closer to one day having my own!
